WOW! The year has flown by since The Splendid Sampler started! I had all good intentions of keeping ahead of the game but alas I was a tad busy last year!
I have done about 40 blocks, the last 2 just last week!
First Purse
Four Corner Spinwheel
There is a GREAT giveaway over on The Splendid Sampler web page....so pop on over to join in the fun!
There are also lots of quilts to see!
and if you want to start all over again then the book will be out soon!
I also have a give away happening here...for Aussies only this time please!
Leave a comment about your blocks and I will put together a parcel of goodies!! I will be back with a winner next week so you have until Monday morning!
Until then, sew another block!
cheers
Gail

thanks for your block Gail. I had great intentions too when this first started but I haven't been able to keep up! Planning on making some of my favourites in a quilt for my mum next year.

I also had great intentions, but alas took on another job, and ANY spare time has been spent on stitcheries and knitting. I have printed off all the patterns though. Does this count, lol?

I haven't even started this yet. I've been working on a queen quilt that is a gift and spend every moment on it. I am looking forward to do the Splendid Sampler in the future though. :)

I've got 30 finished so far and another 19 cut out to sew at a retreat next month. In my head I'm searching for a setting pattern that I like.

I started out okay until a couple of the blocks ended up the wrong size or a bit askew...looks like I am a better hand piecer than machinist LOL. I have collected most of the blocks but need to redo the ones I mucked up first.

The last year has been a wonderful journey, I have learned many new techniques making 91 blocks so far. My new love is paper piecing.

I've made 87 blocks and I'm 87 times better than when I started the sampler. Still lots more work to do before it's all finished but it's fun.

I've made 81 blocks from my stash so it will be my memory quilt, reminding me of so many wonderful projects that I have made over a long time. What a wonderful journey it has been with so many great people.

Unfortunately I have not started, but have saved and printed each block and all the bonuses. Plus I've got the fabric I want to use sorted...monochromatic with a splash of yellow - very different for me

Thank you Gail for being one of the generous designers of the Splendid Sampler. I have had such a wonderful time learning new techniques and have accumulated 110 awesome blocks for my new quilt. I have also been reacquainted with my love of embroidery and managed to start a few stitchery quilts, and finished one for my quilter Mum. X

I, too, had great intentions of completing the Splendid Sampler but got lost along the way. Did get to finish 'Stitch in the Garden'(my way). Will endeavor to start again at the Patchwork Camp coming up soon. I'm hoping to make a big hole in my box of small pieces-otherwise known as Scraps.

Gail, Even though I am not close to completion either, I truly enjoyed traveling all over the world, reading about each designer.. .their tips, challenges they over come and sharing a bit about their lives. Inspiration came from so many avenues and challenges were accepted many times over! I've learned a lot in my skills and enjoyed trying new methods and techniques~ quiltlovefordomesticfelicity(at)gmail(dot)com

I love this sew-a-long even though I am far behind. I have only finished 8 blocks. I need to complete a couple of UFO's and then I am back to it. Thank you for your block design!

I haven't started my blocks yet. I have my fabric bought and my three ring binder is full of the patterns, I have the book preordered. I have had a busy year last year and I have 7 quilts in process now, I might as well get started on this one and make it 8 quilts that I am working on. I Love Quilting :)

I love seeing all the pretty blocks in the Splendid Sampler. I started with good intentions but have fallen off a bit. This month I intend to finish them. Thanks you

Only 2 blocks to go, Gail. I must admit I am pleased that the sampler is over. Your quilt will look gorgeous! Love the blues.

I've loved seeing everyone's version of the blocks. I started out with great intentions and have printed all the blocks but as with many of us life got in the way. Reading through the tips from all of the generous designers, including you of course, has taught me a lot. Thank you.

My small stitching group has just start ed this. We are using fabrics from Australian Patchwork & Stitching magazine .... pinks, blues, yellows, greens, purple and cream in floral and abstracts. Haven't done your block yet but it is very sweet. Can't wait to do it!
